Dolby Digital1 & DTS Decoders2
Deliver built-in 5.1 channel theater quality surround sound to your car. A Pro Logic1 circuit is also included, to play older surround discs that aren't Dolby Digital or DTS compatible.
Sound Field Simulation by DSP
Lets you add the ambience of a music hall, disco, stadium or other venue to your 2-channel stereo sources (TV, VTR and FM). You can also distribute a 2-channel audio signal to all connected speakers by selecting the MULTI-CH effect, one of the eight available choices.
(In addition to analog stereo sources, these DSP effects are designed to work with 2-channel recordings on DVD [linear PCM, Dolby Digital or DTS format] or CD. However, they will not work with 2-channel downmixes from Dolby Surround format or multi-channel recordings.)
Flexible Surround System Setup
Gives you the ability to optimize surround sound during installation through features such as speaker management, output balance, delay time, and dynamic range compression.
Day and Night Design
Automatically adjusts to day and night. In daytime, the metallic-coated face panel presents a sleek, high-tech look; at night the panel glows a cool shade of blue.
Built-in Center Channel Amp
A 30-watt maximum center channel amp helps bring dialogue and on screen effects to life.
Digital Inputs
A digital audio-in (optical) as well as analog audio-in (RCA x 2) are available for a variety of audio connections.
Single Wire Connection
One cable links the hideaway (backseat) unit to the main unit, enabling the video, audio and control lines to be bundled together.
Ready for Future Expansion
By using the two VTR inputs and one output on the hideaway unit, a rear-seat monitor, in-car VCR and a rear-view camera can be added. For audio, hook up a CD changer, and with 6 preouts the system can be upgraded for a higher power output. An RGB input is also included for connection to a planned car navigation system.
