Currently, there are more than 225 public schools that participate in the
Kid Witness News program throughout the US. If a school would like to be considered for participation in the Kid Witness News program, the school must be part of the public school system located in an urban, economically disadvantaged or rural area, and be in grade levels between 5th through 8th. Due to its popularity and numerous applicants; we cannot guarantee the number of openings in a given year.

If you meet the above criteria, an official letter is required
from the school principal or superintendent of the schools
district Board of Education with the following information:

1. background information about the school. 2. State your school's interest in the program. 3. How the program would be utilized in your school. 4. Indicate the teacher who would be assigned the designated coordinator. 5. Provide schools website address if applicable
