The Panasonic EY74A2X57 14.4V/18V Dual Voltage Cordless Drill & Driver is lightweight and compact, yet powerful. With precision variable speed control/reversible, an 18-stage clutch, optimum rotation speed control plus high power brushless motor. The EY74A2X57 is ready for work with with a Panasonic 14.4V or 18V battery. Featuring a handy LED light for user-friendly operation in dark areas, a heavy-duty keyless chuck, and an electric brake for added safety.
Without brushes and commutator which can reduce the lifetime of the tool, the motor lasts approximately twice compared with brushed motor*.

We increased durability of every part right down to the new metal chuck which features tungsten carbide jaw tips. These extra hardened inserts are brazed into each jaw to give extra ‘bite strength’ and substantially reduce wear.
To eliminate heavy friction to internal parts of the switch during use of electric brake, we developed a new semi-electronic switch. This gives smoother operation and double* the life expectancy of the part.

The new, large diameter brushless motors generate high power and efficiency (32Nm of torque - 18V battery). Plus the newly designed control circuit increases stable current flow to motor by more than 70%*. This enables high power output to be evenly maintained until the task is completed even during high-load operation.

The new ‘Speed Control Function’ allows the user to select from three different low rotation speed settings, based on allowable maximum speeds for metal hole saws. It greatly reduces ‘run out’ when using metal hole saws and prevents surface scorching on stainless steel and other materials.
The advanced ‘Smooth Start’ electronics allow easy, precise speed control, enabling the ultimate control when starting drilling or working with small screws in precise applications.

An additional rubber cap seals the switch and protects it against dust and water.
The electronic circuits of control panel and battery pack are covered by an Urethan layer for maximum dust and water protection.

Dual voltage technology offers powerful performance with either a 14.4V or 18V battery. A special dual voltage circuit detects the voltage of the attached battery pack and controls the current and voltage flows to the tool to ensure optimum performance.

With the 18V 5.0Ah battery, the application speed and working capacity goes up with increased power.

Over-discharge prevention sensor

Heat resistance layer technology
