Job Description

At Panasonic Australia, we have an opportunity for a high performing National Sales Manager to lead the sales performance of our Toughbook and Point of Sale (POS) product categories and team.

Leading a team of Business Development and Channel Managers, the National Sales Manager will report into the Group Manager, IT Products Business Division. The position aims to strengthen a consistent, professional sales approach by placing particular emphasis on a 'sell through' oriented strategy and ratifying fresh business through strong end-user engagement to exceed sales and profitability of assigned products.

The Role of National Sales Manager:

  • Set strategic sales direction for the team with the support of the GM, IT Products Business Division
  • Develop the professional capabilities of the sales team and foster strong performance by establishing, managing and achieving  personal performance KPI's
  • Identify and develop talent within the sales team – foster an environment for learning, development and coaching for success
  • Build and develop knowledge of all market verticals
  • Identify major end-users and deliver regular health checks
  • Work with sales team and product marketing to identify major new end-user & vertical opportunities and develop individual account plans with specific pipeline activity
  • Relationship building with key customers and work internally to define new product/solution requirements identified by them
  • Strengthen reseller engagement and champion 'Premium Partner Program'
  • Introduce and monitor rigorous pipeline management in line with pipeline management process.
  • Coordinate A&P activity with Product Marketing Managers and marketing to ensure a strong ROI and focus on building pipeline
  • Manage and monitor sales forecast in line with Domain lead times to improve overall accuracy of PSI

Qualifications/ Requirements

  • Equivalent to degree-level business/commerce qualification (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an equivalent sales leadership role (preferably with technology)
  • Outstanding coaching and leadership skills
  • High level of competence in Microsoft office suite
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills
  • Ability to build and develop effective strategic relationships across complex, multi-dimensional environments
  • Strong understanding of requirements of end users, channel partners and distributors
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic - motivated and positive
  • ‘Team player’ attitude, effective communication and interpersonal skills
