Non-profit Animal Shelter
Founded in 1990 by Robert R. Blease, D.V.M. Common Sense for Animals (CSA) is a nonprofit organization that works to improve every area of human/animal relationships through education and community service. Its goal is to bring people together who share "common sense" or fundamental principles, regarding their heritage and
freedom of choice as it relates to food-producing animals, companion pets, wildlife, research animals and
the environment.
Located in Warren County, NJ, Common Sense for Animals runs the area's only no-kill shelter and pet adoption center. It networks with animal control officers and has become the area's central clearinghouse for lost and found pets. All homeless and injured animals brought to CSA are examined, vaccinated and tested for parasites and other species-specific maladies. They are then cared for until a good home is found. In 2006, CSA arranged the adoptions of over 1,600 animals.
