SAS Executive Briefing Center Deploys Panasonic Professional Displays, Showcases Technological Expertise

Challenge
SAS required a state of the art display technology vendor with a wide range of size offerings to support its mission of fostering creativity, collaboration and technological advancement at its Executive Briefing Center (EBC) in Cary, North Carolina.

Solution
After conducting a shootout of flat-panel displays of various sizes in the industry, SAS chose Panasonic due to the company's high-quality plasma technology and array of size offerings including the Panasonic 103-inch professional display, ideal for the EBC's large applications.

Result
SAS deployed Panasonic professional displays ranging from 50-, 65-, 85- and 103-inches for use as conference, presentation, corporate messaging and digital signage content monitors throughout the EBC. Several displays serve as walk-up stations with instant plug-in functionality for presentations on the fly and have performed exceptionally for nearly four years.

As the largest leading global provider of business analytics software and services in 140 countries worldwide, SAS prides itself on helping organizations solve their most complex business issues. Nearly four years ago, SAS constructed its Executive Briefing Center (EBC) so customers could get to know the company on a deeper level and get a better understanding of creating business analytics solutions for fact-based decision making.

Located at SAS world headquarters in Cary, North Carolina, the EBC's mission is to foster creativity, collaboration and technological advancement. To that end, SAS sought a technology vendor to provide state-of-the-art solutions to suit the EBC's diverse content presentation needs including applications in large auditorium halls, executive suites, conference rooms, hallways and lobbies.

Because the EBC is a platinum LEED-certified building with abundant natural light, it merited professional displays in place of projectors, which would be better suited to handle anticipated lighting issues. SAS conducted a shootout of flat-panel displays of various sizes in the industry, and chose Panasonic for its high-quality plasmas and array of size offerings such as the 103-inch display, an ideal solution for SAS's large application needs. For other parts of the center, SAS chose Panasonic 85-, 65- and 50-inch plasma displays for use as conference and presentation monitors, digital signage and corporate messaging to showcase short videos of SAS solutions and services.

In the EBC's free function hall, twelve 65-inch plasmas dually showcase SAS digital signage content and serve as walk-up stations in which visitors can easily plug their devices into the displays and give presentations on the fly. SAS also deploys a variety of professional displays in the center's cafe as digital menu boards that can be easily updated to highlight daily options and specials.

The professional displays have proven to be the right solution to fit SAS's needs, and have performed exceptionally 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In the nearly four years that SAS has deployed Panasonic professional displays, it has had only one instance that required maintenance. After reporting the issue to Panasonic, the company was able to resolve the problem in a single visit.

“We're very proud of what we've invested in with Panasonic here [at SAS] and it has really shown that we are a technology company," said Scott Sublett, SAS Systems Administrator - AV Engineering and Support. “We couldn't have chosen a better vendor and product line to go with."

Toward supporting the mission of the EBC to foster creativity, collaboration and technological advancement, the displays provide a high quality technology experience for SAS customers and support SAS's position as a leader at the forefront of technology.

“I would absolutely recommend Panasonic for the reliability and the beauty of the display. We're very proud of what we've invested in with Panasonic here. And it really shows that we are a technology company. We couldn’t have chosen a better vendor and a better product line.”
