When the Chula Vista Fire Department decided to deploy a wireless mobile computer solution that would link fire trucks to the communication center, it chose Panasonic Toughbook laptops. Toughbook mobile computers, with integrated mobile broadband, enabled crews to access updated maps, information on burning buildings, its fire prevention equipment and hydrant locations. The Toughbook mobile computers also provided firefighters with a fast way to know what other fire or paramedic units were responding to calls. Chula Vista Fire Department Captain David Albright was pleased that his department chose Toughbook mobile computers and stated that, "If we can cut minutes off our response times and get to the situations or incidents in a safer, faster manner and the correct location immediately, we are obviously going to be more helpful to the people."
