Dallas EMT Fire Department
The Dallas EMT Fire/Rescue team consists of 530
paramedics who answer more than 100,000 emergency calls per year. In a situation
where saving time means saving lives, paramedics found themselves slowed down by
having to fill out patient information forms in the ambulance and then entering
the information into a computer back at the station. To overcome this challenge,
the department installed an electronic patient care reporting system and deployed
Panasonic Toughbook mobile computers to its Fire/Rescue team. This solution put
a spectrum of medical data at the EMTs' fingertips, as well as accelerated the exchange
of vital patient information, enabling paramedics to focus on the patient, not the
paperwork.
Panasonic recommends Windows 8.
