GTSI Wins Two ID/IQ Contracts to Provide Mobile Computing Solutions for the Department of the Interior
Chantilly, VA — November 2, 2005 — GTSI ® Corp. (NASDAQ: GTSI) a leading government information technology solutions aggregator, today announced that it was awarded two ID/IQ (Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity) contracts by the Department of the Interior (DOI). Each contract is mandatory for DOI usage and worth multi-millions for a period of five years (a one-year base with four one-year options).
The Bureau of Land Management within the DOI led the contracting portion with technical support from Minerals Management Services, the National Park Service, the Bureau of Reclamation, Fish and Wildlife Services, the U.S. Geological Survey, and the Department of the Interior Office of the Secretary to establish consolidated IT hardware ordering vehicles to leverage its buying power, streamline its business processes, and standardize its equipment configurations.
The contracts call for GTSI to provide both Panasonic Toughbook CF-18 ruggedized convertible tablets and the powerful Panasonic Toughbook CF-51 Power/GIS laptops. The award-winning Panasonic Toughbooks have long been a favorite with DoD and civilian agencies alike. The CF-18 is a ruggedized convertible tablet PC which is both light weight and built to withstand the extreme environmental and working conditions of many DOI jobs.
