The Panasonic CardioHealth® Station utilizes state-of-the-art ultrasound imaging technologies to empower clinicians to practice personalized preventive medicine!
How Does CardioHealth® Station Help to Address the Following Problems?
1. Traditional risk factors (cholesterol, blood pressure, etc.) are not enough and often misclassify patients. Emerging risk factors, such as hs-CRP, do not provide significant value over the direct assessment of arterial wall.
CardioHealth® Station enables you to directly visualize subclinical atherosclerosis (hidden plaque in carotid arteries). Carotid ultrasound studies that include carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) measurement and scanning for plaque have been shown in large, prospective clinical studies to improve CV risk classification.
2. Accurate, reproducible ultrasound measurement of carotid wall thickness (CIMT) is dependent on having a skilled operator to perform the studies.
CardioHealth® Station, with its simplified user interface, guided touch screen controls, and automated ultrasound features, enables virtually any medical professional to perform reproducible carotid scans in an office-based setting.
CardioHealth® Station’s intuitive, touch-screen interface simplifies the entire examination. After entering basic risk factor information, the ultrasound imaging module is easily launched. It does not require the operator to adjust for image resolution, gain and other features of image quality from patient to patient. Following a sweep of the carotid artery looking for plaque, the distal common carotid artery is targeted for automated CIMT measurement. CardioHealth takes just a few seconds to measure IMT and performs the measurement independently of the operator using Panasonic’s proprietary, auto-freeze function. A colorful comprehensive report is just a couple of screen touches away.
