Pre-scan document imprinting allows indexing, document tracking and proof of scanning paper originals. Imprinting technologies use a simple mark that indicates that each page was, in fact, scanned and can include the date and a consecutive or sequential number on the front of each page. A unique document identifier, under the explicit control of the imaging system software, can also be applied.
