APOP

The APOP (Authenticated Post Office Protocol) function enables passwords to be encrypted when receiving email.

Dual-Port Operation

Simultaneous Dual-Port Operation allows users to send a document over the LAN (local area network) while receiving a fax via a conventional telephone line.

Integrated Document Distribution

Integrated Document Distribution enables users to distribute a document either electronically or by hard copy. Instead of making hundreds of copies of a single document, users can transfer the document directly to the recipients. Users can even edit the document or add comments—all without ever touching a piece of paper.

MDN

The MDN (Message Disposition Notification) confirms that the recipient has opened the sender’s email. The transaction journal printout will indicate an “OK”.

Panasonic Document Management System (P-DMS)

Software that streamlines scanned documents easily and efficiently regardless of the file formats. All of the Panasonic-DMS capabilities can be performed with a simple "drag and drop" operation. Network file sharing and network file storage is possible for efficient document workflow. The "Save As" function enables documents to be saved in PDF format. Panasonic-DMS comes standard with all of the Panafax fax machines.

Remote Diagnostic System

Remote Diagnostic System enables technicians to quickly troubleshoot or update firmware via a telephone line or LAN.

Scan-to-Email (Internet Fax)

With the Internet Fax option, the WORKiO® converts documents into TIFF-F image files and/or PDF and transmits them as email attachments via the local area network. With this "Scan-to-Email" feature, users can send documents directly from the WORKiO to other Internet fax machines or even multiple email clients worldwide at the touch of a button. When both LAN and PSTN lines are used at the same time, Email/G3 mixed broadcast is a convenient way to send the same document to both email addresses and G3 fax machines.

SMTP Authentication

For enhanced security, SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) Authentication allows the fax machine to access most types of mail servers.

Super G3 Fax

Panafax® machines feature high-speed 33.6-kbps Super G3 fax capabilities that transmit a page in about three seconds (letter-size). Besides faster transmission, prep time is also much shorter thanks to 0.7-sec. Quick-Scan. In addition, when a user sends multiple pages, the Quick Memory Transmission saves time by connecting to the receiver and beginning transmission while still collecting data.

LDAP

LDAP enables availability of thousands of email addresses at your fingertips. In addition to email addresses registered in the internet fax machine’s autodialer, users can also access email addresses stored in the mail server thanks to LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol). When used with a mail server that supports LDAP directory service, the fax machine can function as an LDAP client. Users can quickly search for a destination email address by entering the first few letters of their name on the keyboard. The result is a “Scan-to-Email” feature that’s even more powerful, allowing users to easily program their own autodial list using the LDAP directory.

Automatic Archiving

Faxes can be neatly archived by the sender or date/time for easy retrieval at a later date using e-mail client software.

Inbound Routing

Inbound Routing sends received faxes to multiple designated recipients’ email accounts. True paperless fax reception is now possible.

Status Monitor

Supporting industry-standard SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) and MIB (Management Information Base), the Network Status Monitor allows users to check the status of the fax machine on the network from the user’s desktop. Users can monitor the unit’s paper, optional memory configuration, paper misfeeds and more, even if the machine is located in a remote area.

Network Printer

The DX-800 and DX-2000 feature a built-in network interface and print driver allowing these machines to perform as a high-quality 600x600 dpi laser printer.

DHCP

DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) enables automatic network setup. The DX-800 can be configured as a DHCP client within a LAN. Just plug the LAN cable into the DX-800’s Fast Ethernet port. Network information—including IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, primary & secondary DNS address—is automatically acquired from the DHCP server. Complicated setup or network expertise is not required.
