East Coast Malls Stop Shoppers with Engaging Content

Shoppers in two high-profile malls in the northeast can now view engaging in-mall advertising and promotional content via the industry?s largest commercially available plasma display. OnSpot Digital Network, a leading mall-based digital advertising provider with 1,300 screens nationwide, and Simon Property Group, the largest publicly traded retail real estate company in North America, have partnered on the first-ever digital signage application of Panasonic 103-inch plasmas in a public mall space.

In phase one of what will be a continuing series of 103-inch installations in Simon Mall properties across the country, two 103-inch plasmas were mounted in high-traffic common areas of The Westchester Mall, in White Plains, N.Y., and Newport Centre Mall, in Jersey City, N.J. OnSpot representatives chose the 103-inch plasmas to create high impact areas where advertising and video content, provided by OnSpot Digital Network, could be viewed. Along with the 103-inch plasma?s high-quality picture and wide, off-axis viewing angle, OnSpot representatives liked the versatility offered by the 103-inch plasma?s three interchangeable rear panel slots, which allow different combinations of optional terminal boards to be added at any time.

?It?s our understanding that this is the first-ever use of the Panasonic 103-inch plasma for an in-mall, public space digital signage application,? said Simon Badinter, co-chairman of OnSpot. ?We chose the Panasonic 103-inch plasma to create a spectacular display that would further enhance the OnSpot digital advertising platform, which has proven to be effective at targeting the consumer at point of sale.?
