Overview

The PT-DZ8700U offers native WUXGA resolution, which covers full-HD specifications for intricate, lifelike images. It is ideally suited for a wide range of fixed installation and public display venues including live events, auditoriums, staging, digital signage and independent cinema. With dual-lamp operation, the PT-DZ8700 series is also tailor-made for any 24/7 implementation, such as command and control centers.

The PT-DZ8700U produces 10,600 lumens of brightness, a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, 16:10 aspect ratio and 1920 x 1200 WUXGA resolution; the PT-DS8500U offers 10,600 lumens, a 10,000:1 contrast ratio 4:3 aspect ratio and 1400 x 1050 SXGA+ resolution; and the PT-DW8300U has 9,600 lumens, a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, 16:9 aspect ratio and a 1366 x 768 WXGA resolution. The PT-DZ8700 series delivers these significant upgrades in brightness and resolution in a compact footprint realized by a newly-designed, high-efficient, low-noise cooling system and newly-engineered, Panasonic original 355 watt AC lamp.

The projectors are distinguished by superb picture quality: a Dynamic Iris system helps reproduce deeper, richer black and achieve the remarkable 10,000:1 contrast ratio; a Detail Clarity Processor 3, a Panasonic exclusive, produces pictures with natural, three-dimensional appearance and crisp, clear detail; and a DICOM* simulation picture mode is offered for use in medical applications.

The PT-DZ8700 series offers built-in multi-screen color matching and edge blending for displaying uniform, natural-looking, full-motion images over a wide span. When the projectors are edge blended or displayed next to each other, a new Multiple Projector Brightness Management feature automatically adjusts the displays' variations in brightness levels to match each other. Up to 100 projectors (10 x 10) can be edge-blended at one time using the projector's built-in system. Both Edge Blending and Geometric Adjustment are built into the PT-DZ8700U and PT-DS8500U for multiple projection applications and projections onto curved surfaces.

The PT-DZ8700 series is exceptionally easy to set up and maintain. For instance, a built-in Waveform Monitor allows the user to check and adjust the brightness/contrast level to ensure confidence that blacks are not washed out and whites are not crushed. An Auto Cleaning Filter promotes low maintenance, eliminating the need to clean the projector's filter for more than 10,000 hours of use. Furthermore, the lamps boast a lamp life of 4,000hours in eco mode--extremely high in this brightness category range.

The series also features a built-in clock to program the projectors to turn on/off at specific hours during the day. In addition to a wide range of standard inputs, HDMI and HD-SDI input terminals are included in the PT-DZ8700U and PT-DS8500U. The projectors are available for purchase without lenses, with a wide variety of lenses available for flexible installation. Lenses from the PT-DW7000 series are compatible with the PT-DZ8700 series.
