AVCHD is an advanced, industry-standard high definition camera recording format jointly established by Panasonic and Sony, and supported by over 30 manufacturers.
Panasonic offers professional-quality AVCHD camcorders that record on the same standard, removable SD/ SDHC memory cards that are used in digital still cameras, smart phones, and other familiar electronics. And they’re designed to be just as easy to use.
Because the camcorders record on cards, not tapes, there’s no need to digitize video, and no need for a playback deck. It’s ready to edit as soon as it’s recorded. And unlike tapes, optical discs, and even hard disk drives, SD/SDHC cards have no moving parts, giving them extraordinary reliability, even in climate extremes.
Panasonic currently offers two AVCHD camcorders, ideally suited for point-and-shoot applications such as capturing events, surveillance, coaching/training, web production and more. These camcorders demonstrate Panasonic’s commitment to this powerful technology today, and tomorrow.
