City of Orlando Operations Center
High Security Emergency Response Communications
Center
SITE
Housed in a nondescript bomb-proof building
at an undisclosed location, Orlandos Operation
Center is the top secret hub for all of the citys
police, fire and EMS emergency communications. It is
also home to the Orlandos terrorist response team,
with offices for the mayor and staff.
SCOPE
In an effort to streamline and integrate critical, life-saving
emergency information, Panasonic Systems designed, engineered
and installed a range of innovative routing, monitoring
and communications systems. Through a custom-designed
touch screen panel, a single Warning Point Operator
can control all audio and video systems in the entire
building, including an audio broadcast system (with
six secure audio programs), three public address systems,
an eight-signal video monitoring system and three broadcast-quality
television cameras (each with an independent listening
unit). Audio/video media panels enable Operations Center
staff to route any signal in the building to feed 16
television and radio stations.
