Toughbook Times November 2008

In this issue of Toughbook Times, Vicky Obenshain, Director, Wireless Strategy for PCSC, discusses the powerful combination of Panasonic Toughbook computers and the Gobi global mobile internet solution. In addition, Panasonic introduces the new, business-rugged Toughbook W8 and Toughbook T8 and the new Toughbook F8, the world's lightest computer with a 14.1" LCD and DVD drive. Other articles highlight the new Toughbook H1, a mobile clinical assistant (MCA) device for the healthcare industry, as well as the Toughbook U1 ultra-mobile PC. Lastly, Panasonic announces that it has been named one of the world's top 10 greenest companies, and that it now offers the Computrace® Absolute® program, which tracks and helps recover lost or stolen Toughbook computers.



Toughbook Times August 2008

This Toughbook Times puts the spotlight on the new Toughbook U1, the revolutionary, ultra-mobile rugged PC that delivers all the power of a laptop. Nick Waddell, director of Strategic Markets at PCSC, is interviewed and he notes that the Toughbook U1 fills a long-needed solution — combining the technology and size of a handheld with the features, performance, connectivity and operating system of a laptop. Also covered are Panasonic’s co-hosting of a "Night of a Thousand Captures," honoring "America’s Most Wanted," and the addition of a 2MP camera on Toughbook 19 or Toughbook U1, which enables easy image and video capture and real-time transmission in the field. Another article focuses on amazing YouTube.com videos of Toughbook withstanding major abuse.



Toughbook Times May 2008

In the spring edition of Toughbook Times, Jan Ruderman, vice president of Government Sales, comments on Panasonic's recent 2008 Government Technology Summit in Washington, DC. This event brought decision-makers from the various branches of the federal government together to address the technical challenges and opportunities faced by the sector. Other articles include the unveiling of the Toughbook ROI Evaluator, a case study from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department, and news regarding the latest business-rugged laptop enhancements and Frost & Sullivan's recognition of the Toughbook 30.

In this Toughbook Times features a Fox Business News interview of PCSC president Rance Poehler, who discusses the need for mobile computing in today's business world. The fall issue of Toughbook Times discusses Panasonic Computer Solutions Company's reception of the Global Technology Distribution Council's Rising Star Award. The award recognizes Panasonic as the fastest growing vendor in the over $500 million revenue category. Additional articles discuss the unveiling of the new Panasonic Toughbook website, the 2007 Tech Innovator award, how the Toughbook 19 has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, and more.



Toughbook Times August 2007

The summer issue of Toughbook Times detailed highlights from Panasonic's recent "Leading the Way in Wireless Government" event, held in Washington, D.C. More than 150 leaders from military, civilian and public safety organizations spent the day discussing the role mobile and wireless technologies can play in military and government operations. Panasonic also announced the release of the semi-rugged laptop, the Toughbook 52, as well as other product enhancements.

In the spring edition of Toughbook Times, the Executive Focus section focused  on the growing importance of corporate environmental responsibility and Panasonic’s commitment to it. The Toughbook W5 was honored as LAPTOP Magazine’s 2007 Editor’s Choice award-winner. And Panasonic unveiled enhancements to its mobile digital video system, the Arbitrator.



Toughbook Times February 2007

The winter issue provided a wrap-up to the successful Thought Leadership Forum held in January. The two-day event drew more than 300 attendees and included keynote presentations from such high-tech companies as Intel and Cisco Systems. Panasonic also unveiled the newest members of the Toughbook family - the Toughbook Y5 and Toughbook 19 - as well as announced wireless enhancements for a number of laptops.



Toughbook Times November 2006

The premiere issue of Toughbook Times provided the latest innovations and solutions in mobile computing, including the announcement of the new Toughbook 30 and Toughbook W5. This issue also chronicled Toughbook laptops’ sustainability in a variety of real-world situations, from cruising with the U.S. Coast Guard to climbing the highest peak in the world.
