Express Loaner service puts a temporary replacement Panasonic Toughbook® loaner computer in the hands of a user before he or she sends the original unit in for repair. This keeps the user productive while the original Toughbook unit is serviced. The user removes the hard drive from the original computer and inserts it into the loaner unit, eliminating the need to transfer files or software. Once the original unit is returned, the loaner is sent back to Panasonic. This service enables the organization's users to continue working with minimal interruption.
Express Loaner Service differs from Panasonic's Hot Swap Management Service. With Express Loaner Service, the user receives a working computer to use temporarily while his or her own original unit is repaired. Once the original Toughbook is returned, the user ships the loaner back to Panasonic. With Hot Swap, the user keeps the replacement unit. Express Loaner is often preferred by organizations that assign equipment to individuals because it allows the user to take personal "ownership" and pride in the computer.
Within the United States there are no shipping charges to or from Panasonic's National Service Center.
