On January 23, 2014, Panasonic Latin America (PLAT) celebrated the start-up of the solar power generation system installed at a distributor's warehouse and promoted Panasonic's solar power prime contractor business.
Panasonic initiative to promote voice guidance products that improve the quality of life (QOL) of people who are visually impaired whereby competitors join forces to honor the philosophy of universal design (promoted in collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric Corporation) won the IAUD 2013 Gold Award organized by the International Association for Universal Design. This is the second consecutive year that Panasonic has received an IAUD Gold Award. Panasonic also received two silver awards for its "global launch of the voice guidance equipped TV" and "solar lanterns." This is also the second year in a row that Panasonic has won a Silver Award. In addition to these products, six more products were selected for the IAUD Awards, so in total Panasonic received nine commendations, the most number of IAUD Awards it has ever received.
October 30, 2013, Panasonic Corporation and Tesla Motors today announced that the two companies have reached an agreement in which Panasonic will expand its supply of automotive-grade lithium-ion battery cells to Tesla. With this agreement, the two companies update and expand their 2011 arrangement to now supply nearly 2 billion cells over the course of four years. The lithium-ion battery cells purchased from Panasonic will be used to power the award winning Model S as well as Model X, a performance utility vehicle that is scheduled to go into production by the end of 2014.
Panasonic Corporation will be presented with a Technology and Engineering Emmy(R) Award for 2013 by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The honor is being conferred upon Panasonic in recognition of the company's development of In-Camera Electronic Compensation for Lateral Chromatic Aberrations in External Lenses. The Emmy Award will be presented on Thursday, January 9, 2014 as part of the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Panasonic Corporation today announced that it has agreed to provide technical support to Tokai University's solar car team, which will compete in the 2013 World Solar Challenge (WSC 2013), one of the world's biggest races for solar cars, to be held from October 6 to 13 in Australia.
