Panasonic initiative to promote voice guidance products that improve the quality of life (QOL) of people who are visually impaired whereby competitors join forces to honor the philosophy of universal design (promoted in collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric Corporation) won the IAUD 2013 Gold Award organized by the International Association for Universal Design. This is the second consecutive year that Panasonic has received an IAUD Gold Award. Panasonic also received two silver awards for its "global launch of the voice guidance equipped TV" and "solar lanterns." This is also the second year in a row that Panasonic has won a Silver Award. In addition to these products, six more products were selected for the IAUD Awards, so in total Panasonic received nine commendations, the most number of IAUD Awards it has ever received.
On July 16, 2013, Panasonic Corporation announced the establishment of its global partnership with FUTBOL CLUB BARCELONA (FC Barcelona), which will continue for 3 years from April 2013 to March 2016. Through this partnership, Panasonic will collaborate with FC Barcelona on marketing activities and bring the passion of football to people all around the world.
The 2013 Universal Design Award (hosted by German Association for Universal Design), an international design award that recognizes excellent universal design products and services, was awarded to three Panasonic products. The Variable-Colour LED Lighting, LED Compact Street Lighting and ‘Viera’* Television Voice Guidance for the UK market.
