Gallaudet University is the only liberal arts university in the world designed exclusively for deaf and hard of hearing students. The University also houses a pre-school, elementary and high schools. Faculty, staff, and students, whether in or out of the classroom, use American Sign Language and English to communicate. As a result, students are able to participate fully in all aspects of campus life and thereby acquire the comprehensive education and experience that is the goal of a liberal arts school.

For several years Panasonic has supported Gallaudet University by providing equipment and monetary funding to help with the development of their audio and video programs. In 2006 Gallaudet moved their video production studio to a new building. The new facility is a complete digital production center integrated with other campus production resources which includes Panasonic products.
In addition, Panasonic has participated at Gallaudet in career fairs and has utilized students to assist with research for the development of products for people with disabilities.

Gallaudet’s elementary school also hosted the only team for hearing impaired students under the Panasonic Kid Witness News program.
