Rotary Knob
One large knob gives you full control with click-stop precision over all sound functions: volume, bass/treble, balance/fader, and subwoofer. Press to select an item, then turn to adjust the level - it's easy to get the hang of. To the knob's left is the power switch, which also selects your listening source. Above it is the mute/attenuation switch. For easy driver access, these and other controls are ergonomically arranged, with the most common functions grouped on the left.
High Definition 3D Dot Matrix Display
For music-synced 3D action graphics with crisp detail, this monster display boasts 20,480 dots - over 2.5 times the density of last year's. The large video memory offers graphic excitement in five fresh patterns including "Car Race." Full-dot LCD technology enables 4-level graduation for smooth, attractive rendering. One of the largest in a 1DIN size model, the display lets you quickly and easily check settings and status.
Slim Fit Mount Design
Thanks to the Flat panel design, the unit can be mounted flush in many cars. This can achieve a custom-finished look without excessive protrusions that you might expect to see in an expensive sports car.
4-Channel High Power Amp
The high-power amplifier built into Panasonic CD Receivers deliver up to 240 watts of total power, capable of driving four speakers at high volume. Specially designed electronics ensure deep, dynamic bass and sound signal purity with a minimum of interference and cross talk.
MP3 and WMA Playback from CD-R/RW Discs
If you have discs with music in MP3 files or in WMA files, select CD Receivers will handle them. MP3 allows you to fit 10 to 12 times more music onto each disc compared to conventional CDs. WMA lets you fit about twice as much music on one CD-R or CD-RW disc while enjoying sound quality on a par with MP3. In other words, you can drive twice as far without changing discs.
Multi-Stage Noise Shaping 1-Bit DAC
Panasonic uses a single bit to convert digital signals to analog. This technology not only helps prevent sound distortion, it actually moves digital noise out of the audible range. The original CD signal is requantized and is "shaped" to make noise inaudible. PWM (pulse width modulation) then precisely rebuilds the analog waveform.
One-Chip Digital Circuit
This first-in-the-industry technology handles the signal processing tasks of three chips: 1-bit D/A conversion with multi-stage noise shaping, and optical servo control. The result is dynamic sound quality and reliable performance.
3-Beam Hologram Pickup
Accurate reading of digital data from the tracks of a CD involves an intricate and complex system of many opto-electronic parts. Panasonic has successfully integrated all these parts in a single hologram, delivering high performance reliably in all its CD models.
Day and Night Design
Automatically adjusts to day and night. In daytime, the metallic-coated face panel presents a sleek, high-tech look; at night the panel glows a cool shade of blue.
Super Bright Display with Dimmer
Most CD models feature a colorful display for added convenience and visual impact. The display provides high visibility even in daylight, thanks to its CFL (cold cathode fluorescent lamp) backlight, and the 3-step dimmer allows you to adjust brightness to match day and night driving conditions.
Spectrum Analyzer
With its dynamic blue gradation, the spectrum analyzer gives you a visual indication of actual musical energy. You can change the display pattern to suit your mood or the music by selecting one of 11 modes, or you can choose to turn it off altogether.
