Wide Rubber Edge
Now 1.5 times the size of the edge on our previous models, this wide rubber edge performs the essential task of linking the cone to the frame. Supple yet providing damping control, this wide edge is able to follow cone movement during large excursions, ensuring that the most demanding bass passages are powerful and accurate.
4-Layer Voice Coil
Long-throw voice coils support linear movement of the diaphragm during reproduction of large amplitude signals. Heat-resistant wire is used in a 4-layer coil winding to assure high power handling. Aluminum bobbin construction provides excellent heat dispersion characteristics so that even at maximum rated input of 600W, there is still a margin of reliability.

Because extremely large input signals may overload a single damper, every Panasonic subwoofer is equipped with large dual dampers, helping to provide a controlled and powerful bass sound.
Diaphragm with Large Center Cap
Large center caps take advantage of polymer surface finishing to help withstand weather and other aspects of the mobile environment. In addition, the large center caps effectively operate as acoustic high-cut filters, helping to remove spurious mid-high range frequencies that are beyond the proper range of subwoofer reproduction.
