A Panasonic branded HDMI cable is recommended.

Even if the TV is turned off, the
DVD Recorder unit will not turn off at the same
time under the following conditions:
when the unit is recording
when scheduled recording is proceeding
when copying
when finalizing, etc.

on the TV, will the DVD Recorder turn off in conjunction

Yes if the HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics
