LCD
A Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) is a screen for displaying graphics and/or text based on technology in which minute currents change the reflectiveness or transparency of a thin, flat screen. The screen is comprised of pixels that are illuminated by a reflector or other light source. LCD televisions are preferable to and have largely replaced CRT screens due to better picture quality and considerably less bulk.
Hard disk drive
A Hard Disk (drive) is a medium for the storage of large amounts of digital data. Electronic devices that contain internal hard disks are able to store and access data without needing portable disks or cassettes to do so. Hard disks also allow for the high speed accessing and processing of data.
Bluetooth
Bluetooth is a type of wireless technology used to provide a secure, cable-free connection between portable electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptops and digital cameras. When Bluetooth is used to connect two or more devices, it is said to have established a Personal Area Network (PAN) for the user.
DVD
Digital Video Disk (DVD) is the video storage format largely responsible for replacing VHS cassette tapes, due to a smaller size and higher resolution. DVDs are virtually identical to CDs in size and shape, but are capable of holding significantly more data. They are available in several formats, most notably DVD-Rs (DVDs which can be recorded on once) and DVD-RWs (DVDs which can be recorded on multiple times).
Satellite radio
Satellite Radio is a subscription-based radio service sent via satellite to cars, homes and public locations for subscribers who have special radio receivers equipped to receive the signal. Sirius and XM are the two current providers of satellite radio in the U.S. Both providers offer over 100 channels of radio (the majority of which are commercial-free), including music, talk and traffic information stations.
