Each spring, Panasonic employee volunteers come together for a good cause: preserving the environment. Our New Jersey-based employees, families, and friends participate in the state's annual Beach Sweeps shoreline clean-up events. The events, sponsored by Clean Ocean Action, attract dozens of employees who help collect and analyze trash and debris that has washed ashore.
Statewide, more than 5,100 volunteers collected almost a quarter of a million items from the beaches in 2002. About 2/3 of the debris collected collected are plastic items. The beach and waterway clean-ups give our employees an opportunity to participate in an event that benefits the environment and local community.
Panasonic’s efforts are a good example of how every little bit can help. Last year in New Jersey, over 5,100 volunteers collected almost a quarter of a million items from the beaches. |
