Panasonic vinner flotte priser i EISA Awards 2014

Wiesbaden, Germany (15th August, 2014) – Panasonic has today announced it has been awarded four prestigious accolades in the European Imaging Sound Association’s (EISA) 2014 awards, demonstrating the Digital Imaging and Audio Visual innovation in its 2014 European consumer electronics product range.

Panasonic showed its strength and expertise in the digital imaging field picking up three awards for the ‘EUROPEAN PHOTO & VIDEO CAMERA 2014-2015’ with the LUMIX DMC‐GH4; ‘EUROPEAN TRAVEL COMPACT CAMERA 2014-2015’ with the LUMIX DMC‐TZ60 and ‘EUROPEAN ADVANCED COMPACT CAMERA 2014-2015’ with the LUMIX DMC‐FZ1000. Success was also had in the Home AV division with the Panasonic DMP‐BDT700 Blu-Ray player picking up ‘EUROPEAN BLU-RAY PLAYER 2014-2015’.

EUROPEAN PHOTO & VIDEO CAMERA 2014-2015: Panasonic LUMIX DMC‐GH4:

Panasonic’s LUMIX GH4, its flagship LUMIX G interchangeable lens camera designed to change the boundaries between consumer and professional photography and videography, wowed the EISA jury with its stunning 4K video shooting, superior mobility and intuitive image capture in every condition.

In naming the LUMIX DMC-GH4 as its ‘European Photo & Video Camera 2014 – 2015’, the EISA jury noted that it “The Panasonic LUMIX GH4 is one of the most feature-heavy cameras on the market. The 16-megapixel Live MOS sensor captures high-quality still images and provides professional 4K video-recording capabilities. It allows users to shoot slow or fast-motion footage using a frame rate of between 2fps and 96fps. Audio can be recorded and monitored using an external microphone, and by using the optional interface it is possible to output high-quality, uncompressed 4K footage via micro-HDMI. The GH4 features a sharp OLED live viewfinder, and a bright 3-inch monitor, and the weather-sealed magnesium-alloy body was designed to withstand professional use.”

EUROPEAN TRAVEL COMPACT CAMERA 2014‐2015: Panasonic LUMIX DMC‐TZ60:

Awarding the LUMIX TZ60 the ‘European Travel Compact Camera 2014- 2015’, the EISA jury noted that “Having pioneered the travel compact camera class from the beginning, it’s no surprise that Panasonic is still leading the race with the LUMIX TZ60.”

The latest in Panasonic’s LUMIX TZ series of compact cameras, the LUMIX DMC-TZ60 was designed to be the ideal all-purpose companion for capturing your daily journey, wherever you are in the world. The EISA jury recognises that “this latest-generation travel compact camera introduces an electronic viewfinder as well as raw file support, enhanced video features and a new 30x Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 24–720mm (full-frame-equivalent) zoom lens with an aperture of F3.3-6.4. Sporting an improved hybrid optical image stabiliser for video capture, the TZ60 compensates for camera movement in five directions, making it usable even for hand-held photo and video shooting at long focal lengths. In addition, the TZ60 offers GPS navigation, as well as Wi-Fi connectivity with easy NFC setup, for the benefit of the traveller.”

EUROPEAN ADVANCED COMPACT CAMERA 2014-2015: Panasonic LUMIX DMC‐FZ1000

Panasonic’s LUMIX FZ1000, its most advanced bridge camera to date, was recognised by the EISA jury as being “the first compact camera to bring 4K video to the consumer – and, if needed, an 8-megapixel still picture can be taken from the video feed.”

With a premium, compact and high quality build which incorporates a fixed high-performance LEICA DC lens, the LUMIX FZ1000 is a statement camera that provides stunning image quality and 4K video recording with ease. Alongside its 4K video capability, the EISA jury also recognised the FZ1000 as “a very good camera for photography, with a big 1‐inch MOS sensor that produces little noise and offers a resolution of 20 megapixels, while for the demanding user raw shooting is offered in addition to the JPEG format. In low‐light shooting situations, the ISO setting can be turned up to ISO 12,800. The Leica DC‐Vario‐Elmarit F2.8‐4 lens provides a full‐frame‐equivalent focal range.”

EUROPEAN BD‐PLAYER 2014‐2015: Panasonic DMP‐BDT700

Finally, Panasonic’s state-of-the-art BDT700 Blu-Ray player has been celebrated by the EISA Jury for “bringing top‐quality video – and audio – to a home theatre setup.”

With 4K 60p output, the BDT700 is designed to support the highest picture quality available both today, and in years to come. Using a HDMI 2.0 terminal, you can connect to other 4K devices and enjoy crystal clear images and video. The BDT700 also incorporates 4K Direct Chroma Up-scaling for converting Full HD Blu-ray content into stunning 4K.

The EISA Jury commented that the “improved UniPhier chipset separates processing of audio and video signals, with the video path able to be switched off entirely. The result is audiophile sound, delivered through discrete 7.1-channel analogue outputs and 192kHz/32-bit DACs, or via digital outputs. Picture and audio quality can be adjusted via in-depth tuning options – including colour and gamma settings – in a simple-to use interface. Full HD Blu-ray images showcase impressive detail, and the DMP-BDT700 can upscale them to THX-certified 4K resolution. Additional features of this elegantly-designed player include external media playback from USB, SD card and a home network (with support for hi-res FLAC and WAV files), plus access to Panasonic’s content-rich Viera Connect platform. Overall, this is a modern, forward-thinking disc player.”

Established in 1982, the European Imaging Sound Association (EISA) is a multimedia association that tests consumer electronic products. With a membership including 50 audio, mobile, video and photo magazines from 20 European countries, EISA’s awards are known as one of the most prestigious consumer recommendations that products can receive, and a key indicator for the best consumer purchasing decisions.
