Athens
Greece, August 2004
Panasonic has had a unique opportunity during the 2004 Olympic Games in
Athens. Because of its relationship with world-renowned swimmer Mark
Spitz, one of the most accomplished Olympic athletes in history,
Panasonic has been able to give its web site visitors an inside view on
what it is like to be at the Games. Mark, winner of seven gold medals at
the 1972 Munich Olympics (in addition to his two gold medals from the
1968 Olympics in Mexico City), reported direct from Athens on some of
the most exciting swim competitions in recent memory. Each day while the
swimming events were taking place, using Panasonic's PV-GS200 3CCD
camcorder along with Panasonic's SD Memory Card technology, Mark
conveyed his impressions of the Games, the athletes and the city of
Athens.
Click on the dated timeline below to see Mark's video clips and read his
personal blog with his thoughts on American swimmers Michael Phelps and
Amanda Beard, as well as other athletes at these summer Games.
