The ENERGY STAR Program is a partnership of the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and leading technology manufacturers like Panasonic. The goal is to preserve the environment through an industry-wide effort to develop energy-saving products for the home, office and industry.

Panasonic is the sole consumer electronics manufacturer to receive the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award in each of the past five years. The 2002 award was presented by the EPA and DOE at a ceremony in Washington DC held earlier this year and recognized the company's leadership role in developing and marketing the most comprehensive line of energy-efficient consumer electronics products.
