The DMC-FZ62 features a 25-600mm (35mm camera equivalent) F2.8-5.2 LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens. The powerful 24x optical zoom can be used both in photo and video recording. Thanks to the Intelligent Resolution technology, the 48x Intelligent Zoom is also available maintaining the picture quality even combining a digital zoom. The 25mm ultra wide angle lens captures approx.196% wider angle of view compared with a standard 35mm camera. The DMC-FZ62’s lens also features the Nano Surface Coating technology that minimizes ghosts and flaring.
The 16.1-megapixel High Sensitivity MOS sensor and the Venus Engine elevate the response, sensitivity and image quality of the DMC-FZ62 even in high sensitivity recording. Intelligent Noise Reduction system and Multi-process Noise Reduction system are also available to reduce noise and render dramatically clear images even in low-lit situation.

Creative Control / Creative Retouch allow you to apply one of the 14 artistic effects to your image before / after shooting. You can easily adjust settings by effect parameter in some effects. The iA Plus mode is enables defocus control, exposure compensation and white balance adjustment. With the HDR (High Dynamic Range), several images taken with different exposures are combined into a single properly exposed picture with rich gradation.
