The beauty of making a cake with the Panasonic SR-CN108WST Automatic Rice Cooker is the set-and-forget simplicity! This recipe is great way for use up those bananas that a tad too ripe. Have it warm in the winter, or pair it with a generous scoop of ice cream in the summer. Created by audreysaurus.

Ingredients


  • 0.5 cupunsalted butter (115g)
  • 0.75 cupbrown sugar (150g)
  • 3ripe bananas mashed
  • 2eggs
  • Splash of vanilla paste/essence
  • 1.25 cupall-purpose flour (185g)
  • 1 tspcinnamon
  • 0.5 tspbaking soda

Toffee Sauce

  • 0.5 cupbrown sugar (100g)
  • 0.5 cupunsalted butter (115g)
  • 0.33 cupheavy cream

Steps

1) Cream together butter and sugar.

2) Add eggs and vanilla, then beat until completely combined.

3) Sift in flour, baking soda, and cinnamon and then fold in.

4) Fold in mashed bananas.

5) Butter the rice cooker, then transfer batter into the rice cooker. Using the Panasonic SR-CN108WST rice cooker, set to “cake/bread” setting (this setting will automatically cook for 40 minutes).

6) Make the sauce by combining brown sugar, butter, and cream in a saucepan and cooking on low heat until slightly thickened.

7) When rice cooker has completed cooking, poke several holes in the cake then pour half the sauce over.

8) Serve pudding while warm with remaining sauce and vanilla ice-cream.
