CO2 Heat Pump Hot Water System

CO₂ Heat Pump Hot Water System - Product Lineup

Panasonic’s hot water system lineup includes two models: 4kW and 6kW, with water tanks available in 250L, 315L, and 400L to suit your needs. Using eco-friendly CO₂ natural refrigerant and advanced heat pump technology, these systems deliver superior energy efficiency and achieve up to 70% savings on hot water costs compared to conventional systems.

Choose the Right Hot Water System

A hot water system heats and stores water for daily use-showers, bathing, dishwashing, and laundry. In Australia and New Zealand, hot water accounts for around 20-30%* of household energy use, making it one of the largest energy loads at home.
Choosing the right system can significantly improve energy efficiency and reduce running costs.
Panasonic recommends heat pump systems for their superior efficiency and lower environmental impact.

Why Heat Pumps Make Sense

1) Check Available Rebates
Now is the perfect time to upgrade and maximize your benefits!
Switching to an energy-efficient hot water system can cut running costs and may qualify you for government rebates in Australia. Installing a heat pump reduces upfront expenses and accelerates your savings. Check local rebate programs to maximise the benefit.

2) Cut Hot Water Costs by Up to 70%

Switch to a CO2 Heat pump hot water system and enjoy up to 6.8 times higher efficiency than traditional electric or gas systems. That means you can save energy bills while reducing carbon emissions for a sustainable future.

Compared with electricity storage water heaters, heat pumps can reduce running costs by up to 70%. Enjoy superior energy efficiency, and long-term savings!

Assumptions
・Sustainability Victoria: Calculate Water Heating Running Costs
(Based on standard assumptions: 4-person household, 150 L/day)
・Actual energy consumption will vary depending on inlet water temperature, usage patterns, system configuration, household circumstances, and operating conditions
・Total energy costs may vary by State depending upon tariff rates and charges that are applicable in those States.

3) All-in-One Type vs Split Type
Hot water systems are available in two configurations: all-in-one and split type. An all-in-one unit combines a heat pump (outdoor unit) and storage tank into one integrated system, ideal for homes with limited space and simple installation needs. A split system separates the heat pump (outdoor unit) and tank, offering greater flexibility and performance.

Panasonic recommends the split type for its superior advantages:
• Handles a wider range of outdoor temperatures
• Higher energy efficiency
• Faster heating and "Provides greater volume of hot water to use"

How It Works

Heat pump technology works by extracting heat from the surrounding air and transferring it to water in a storage tank. Unlike traditional electric heaters that rely solely on electrical resistance, heat pumps use a small amount of electricity to move heat rather than generate it, making them significantly more efficient. Panasonic’s CO₂ heat pump hot water system achieves a COP of up to 6.1, delivering exceptional energy efficiency. This process ensures a consistent hot water supply even in colder climates, while greatly reducing energy consumption and running costs.
