Innovative Product: Facsimile machine for office use (SD/LD series)

The first office facsimile machine, SD/LD series, was developed in 1962.
It was developed as a desktop-type, for which there was a demand at that time. The machine was developed in a series, SD being the transmitter and LD being the receiver. SD stands for a sheet-type desktop-type, while LD indicates that the receiver uses a roll-type, which is generally called a continuous flat surface recording system.
