People hone their skills and refine their characters for their own sakes. But it is also a great responsibility as a member of the society. When others have moved forward three steps, but you have yet to advance one step, you drag down the overall average. If we all learn to have that responsibility as a member of society, which is akin to a sense of solidarity, the level of society as a whole will achieve great progress.
