LE activity in Melaka
Melaka, Malaysia - On June , the 3 Panasonic companies operating in Melaka, Malaysia jointly organized an LE (Love the Earth) activity. This activity was held in conjunction with the annual celebration of the Environmental Month in June, and was aimed at raising environmental awareness among employees in the light of 'eco ideas' for Everybody, Everywhere. 236 people participated in three activities at Kemunting Beach, Pengkalan Balak, Melaka, namely tree planting, beach clean-up, and a study visit to the Turtle Management Centre.
'Jambu Laut' trees were planted by representatives of Panasonic companies in Melaka, to provide shade to a turtle hatchery site. Employees and their families then joined forces to clean the beach, where a total of 393.9 kg of waste was collected. Participants also visited the Turtle Management Centre, where they learned about a conservation program for marine turtles, and were allowed to touch the newly hatched Hawksbill turtles. As a token of appreciation, the Melaka Panasonic Group of Companies sponsored a donation box to the Turtle Management Centre for its turtle conservation program.
