Open Innovation

Collaborative research with university

We are accelerating innovation by multiplying core technology of Technology Innovation Division and university knowledge.
We have research centers in Kyoto University, Osaka University, Nagoya University, and imec (Europe) working closely for industry-university collaboration.
We are improving the level of researchers by study program in domestic universities including the University of Tokyo and overseas universities (United States, France, Switzerland etc.).

In collaborative research with national agencies, we are engaged in Research and Development in the basic phase and also close to commercialization phase.
In November 2016 we opened a joint research department at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), in February 2017 at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and began systematic collaboration.

Panasonic's technical history

The laboratory under the direct control of Panasonic's headquarters began with "Central Research Laboratory,Matsushita Electoric" headed by Tetsujiro Nakao in 1954 and continues by transforming the scale, scope and name in the company's 100 years history.
January 2018、 Technology Innovation Division was formed Advanced Research Division, established in 2014.
The research fields is specialized in advanced research in the field of materials and devices.
