Panasonic Cambodia Celebrates the Successful Completion of the KWN National Filming Contest 2026

KWN Nationals 2026 Cambodia Finalist with Panasonic Team

Phnom Penh, Cambodia — Panasonic Cambodia is proud to announce the successful completion of the 2026 Kid Witness News (KWN) National Filming Contest, held for the second consecutive year as a national event at Cambodia Japan Corporation Center last evening. Building on the momentum of last year's landmark inaugural contest, the 2026 edition saw a significant expansion in both school participation and student engagement, reaffirming Panasonic's long-term commitment to youth empowerment, creativity, and education through the medium of filmmaking.

This year's competition brought together nearly 80 students across 10 film submissions in both the Primary and Secondary categories. Participating schools included Paññāsāstra International School (PSIS), AII Language Center -Phnom Penh Campus, Aii Language Center-Siem Reap Campus, Vision Bridge International Academy, and Singapore Cambodia International Academy (SCIA). The inclusion of schools from Siem Reap marks a significant milestone, reflecting Panasonic Cambodia's growing ambition to extend the KWN program beyond the capital and reach young filmmakers across the country.

KWN Nationals 2026- Cambodia Primary & Secondary Category Winners

Following rigorous evaluation by a panel of experienced coaches, the national champions for 2026 were announced. In the Primary Category, the winning team was Vision Bridge International Academy for their film titled “Good Health and Well-being.” The Secondary Category was won by AII Language Center- Siem Reap Campus for their film titled “Keep Youth Safe.” Both winning teams will go on to represent Cambodia at the KWN Global Summit in October 2026, where they will join young filmmakers from 11 countries to compete and celebrate creativity on an international stage.

The 2026 contest builds on the historic success of last year's competition, when Cambodia achieved its first-ever international KWN victory with the Paññāsāstra International School (PSIS) team winning the prestigious KWN Panasonic Award in the Primary Category at the KWN Global Summit 2025. That milestone galvanised schools and students across the country, contributing to the remarkable growth and enthusiasm seen in this year's national competition.

Kid Witness News (KWN) is a global educational filmmaking program by Panasonic, designed to nurture children's creativity, communication skills, and teamwork.
