4K HDR Video

4K HDR Video

LUMIX S1H offers two HDR modes in the HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) format: 4K HEVC (HLG) video mode and Photo Style “Like2100.” When displaying media captured in these modes on an HDR-compatible device, you will enjoy breathtaking reproduction of dynamic range and extremely fine gradations of light and dark.

Anamorphic Recording

Anamorphic Recording

The LUMIX S1H supports anamorphic video recording in a variety of aspect ratios, including 4K in 4:3, 6K full-frame in 3:2, DCI-4K, and more. Thus, anamorphic lenses with a variety of squeeze factors can be used. The footage can then be edited in post-production, making possible Cinemascope-size video of extremely high image quality.

The LUMIX S1H also includes the Anamorphic Desqueeze Display function, allowing users to view desqueezed Cinemascope-size video via the camera body and confirm footage during the shoot. Magnification rate is selectable at 1.3x, 1.33x, 1.5x, 1.8x, and 2.0x.

VFR (Variable Frame Rate)

VFR (Variable Frame Rate)

VFR (variable frame rate) functionality supports both overcranking and undercranking. Users have access to 2.5x slow (24p/60 fps) in C4K/4K and 7.5x super-slow (24p/180 fps) in FHD.* This feature is highly useful in creating emotional slow-motion footage and capturing rapid movement imperceptible to the naked eye. It is also possible to create comically rapid footage of up to 30x normal speed (30p/2 fps).

* The degree of effect varies depending on the recording format and frequency, and the angle of view narrows if a frame rate over 150 fps is selected.

HFR (High Frame Rate)

HFR (High Frame Rate)

The LUMIX S1H is the first camera in the series to support HFR (High Frame Rate) recording, with the following high frame rates available: 119.88p or 47.95p (59.94Hz), 100.00p (50.00Hz), and 48.00p (24.00Hz). In post-production, the frame rate can be changed and slow-motion video produced. Different from VFR (Variable Frame Rate) capture, HFR (high frame rate) recording includes audio and autofocus.

Time Lapse Video 4K 60p/50p

Time Lapse Video 4K 60p/50p

The LUMIX S1H supports interval capture to create time lapse video in the camera body itself and is also capable of 4K 60p/50p. Still photos can also be shot with V-Log or Like709 for outstanding handling in post-production. Exposure smoothing takes place during processing, resulting in beautiful time lapse videos with smooth exposure changes.

Like709 / Knee Adjustment

Like709 / Knee Adjustment

The LUMIX S1H includes the Rec.709 gamma curve, which is commonly utilized in commercial broadcasting. Since the knee adjustment can prevent blown-out highlights, this feature supports the use of unedited footage in broadcasts and quick, efficient post-production work.

Video Frame Marker

Video Frame Marker

The video frame marker is useful when vertical/horizontal cropping in post-production is anticipated. Displayable aspect ratio frames include 2.39:1 and 2.35:1 for cinema and 1:1 and 4:5 for social media, providing a total of 8 patterns to select from.

Display Modes to Support Videography

Display Modes to Support Videography

In Creative Video Mode, a control panel is displayed that is similar to that of a professional cinema camera. There are three display options for Shutter Speed and Gain (Sensitivity): Sec/ISO, Angle/ISO, or Sec/dB. Providing access to familiar controls is another way to support smooth and convenient videography.

System Frequency

System Frequency

To support global video production, three different system frequencies can be selected: 59.94Hz (NTSC), 50.00Hz (PAL), or 24.00Hz (CINEMA).

Filtering / My List of Rec Quality

Filtering / My List of Rec Quality

Frame rate, resolution, codec, etc., can be specified and represented in the display by the rec quality. Thus, Anamorphic, VFR (Variable Frame Rate), and HFR (High Frame Rate) selections can be displayed. This function makes it easy to search on the desired rec quality, and frequently used recording modes can be saved to My List for quick access at any time.

Segment File Recording / Loop Recording

Segment File Recording / Loop Recording

Segment File Recording records video as 1-minute segments, making it useful for preventing the loss of data due to battery issues, etc. Loop Recording deletes old data while recording, allowing users to record their best footage without worrying about data card capacity.

Luminance Level for 10-bit

Luminance Level for 10-bit

For 8-bit, 0-255 / 16-235 / 16-255 are selectable. For 10-bit, 0-1023 / 64-940 / 64-1023 are selectable.

Luminance Spot Meter

Luminance Spot Meter

A subject can be selected with the frame and its luminance displayed as a percentage. When recording in V-Log, the camera displays luminance in stops. Setting 18% gray to equal 0.0 stops is helpful in selecting the optimal exposure value.

WFM / Vectorscope

WFM / Vectorscope

Luminance, or chroma color balance can be displayed during recording.

Zebra Pattern

Zebra Pattern

As a new feature, the LUMIX S1H can display two zebra patterns at once, allowing the user to set a luminance range. This function can be used to warn the user of blown-out highlights, provide an 18% gray adjustment during V-Log recording, set a luminance range for human faces, and otherwise assist in achieving an optimal exposure level.

Master Pedestal Level

Master Pedestal Level

The standard black level for the video can be adjusted.

Synchro Scan

Synchro Scan

This function fine-tunes the shutter speed to minimize the flickering of fluorescent lights, televisions, computer monitors, etc.
