Ingredients

  • 2 nosOrange

For Filling

  • 1 noPomegranate
  • 5 tbspStrawberry jam

For butter cream

  • 150 g Butter
  • 250 gIcing sugar
  • 3 tbsp Mandarin orange juice
  • 1 tbsp Mandarin orange peel

For orange almond Cake

  • 250 gUnsalted butter
  • 100 gSugar
  • 5 nos Egg yolks
  • 150 gCake flour
  • 120 gGround almond
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 5 tbsp Orange juices
  • 1 noOrange rind
  • 5 nos Medium egg white

Method

STEP 1

Using Panasonic Slow Juicer to make orange juice.

STEP 2

In a medium mixing bowl, mix baking powder and ground almond together. 

STEP 3

Using Panasonic Chef Machine, select “Speed 5” to cream butter and sugar till creamy. Add in egg yolks, orange juice and orange rind.

STEP 4

Fold in flour mixture and continue to mix till well combined.

STEP 5

Using Panasonic Chef Machine, select “Speed 6” to whisk egg whites till foamy then add in sugar. Continue to whisk till soft peak.

STEP 6

Fold in 30% into the egg yolk batter. Then add in the rest. Mix till all are well combined.

STEP 7

Pour into 2 lined 6 inch cake tins.

STEP 8

Preheat Panasonic Microwave Oven to 170˚C. Select “Convection Function” to bake cake at 170˚C for 30 minutes.

STEP 9

To make filling, mix pomegranate and strawberry jam together. Set aside.

STEP 10

To make butter cream, using Panasonic Chef Machine, select “Speed 9” to cream butter till smooth then add in sifted icing sugar, continue to cream till light and fluffy.

STEP 11

Pour in mandarin orange juice and mandarin orange rind then continue to whisk till well combined.

STEP 12

Assemble the cake with butter cream and filling on each layer and spread the butter cream around the sides and top of the cake. Decorate the cake with mandarin orange, Pomegranate and pecan.
