  • 1spring chicken, around 800 - 900 g
  • 4red dates, halved and pitted
  • 2fresh Korean ginseng roots
  • 4garlic cloves
  • 100 gglutinous rice, soaked in water for at least 1 hour
  • 2 tspsalt
  • 1.2 litrehot boiling water
  • 1stalk spring onion, sliced, for garnishing

Cubie function: Stew



Clean chicken, remove excess fat inside chicken cavity and pat dry. Stuff the glutinous rice (reserving 1 tbsp) and half the Korean ginseng, red dates and garlic cloves into chicken cavity. Seal opening with toothpick.


Place chicken into a ceramic pot. Add the remaining glutinous rice, ginseng, red dates and garlic together with salt and water.


Cook on Stew mode for 3 hours. Add sliced spring onion and serve hot.
