Five sensors detect condition of use to automatically optimize energy saving

The fridge automatically switches to ECONAVI (energy-saving) mode depending on the user lifestyle.
The ECONAVI refrigerator monitors the the room temperature, when and how often the fridge doors are opened, and the fridge’s internal temperature, while a new Storage Sensor detects the amount of food stored. ECONAVI analyzes and responds to this information to maintain ideal cooling and avoid wasting energy.

ECONAVI calculates the amount of food stored in the refrigerator with a special light sensor. When the food volume declines, ECONAVI reduces the cooling level to save energy. When the food volume is higher, ECONAVI maintains a standard cooling level for optimum refrigeration.

Continuously adjusts the power level as necessary to maximize energy-savings, deliver more advanced cooling with intelligent inverter.

-3 °C Prime Fresh Compartment

This compartment provides soft freezing, an all-new refrigeration technology.

How -3 °C soft freezing works

While the typical refrigerator freezes food to approx.-18°C ~ -20 °C, the Prime Fresh freezes it to approx.-3 °C. Since food is very lightly frozen, it never gets hard. Food very lightly frozen in this way never hardens and even raw foods stay at their best; retaining nutrients as well as delicious flavor and texture.

Cooking without defrosting

There is no need to defrost partially frozen food before preparing it. Since it never hardens, it remains easy to cut and cook immediately.

Easy cutting
Foods that are difficult to cut when raw cut easily and crisply when softly frozen. Meats are particularly easy to slice—just pre-slice them and use as needed.

Time savings
No more waiting to defrost large pieces of meat and fish. Simply cut the needed portion and prepare. It’s also easy to prepare portions in advance and use them at your convenience.

Minimal spreading of food odors

Soft freezing food strongly inhibits bacterial growth, thereby minimizing food odors. Ideal for storing seafood and other strong-smelling foods, the Prime Fresh helps prevent odors from spreading to other foods in the refrigerator.

Longer-lasting freshness and flavor

Thanks to soft freezing, the freshness of foods lasts longer in the Prime Fresh mode than in the refrigerator compartment. Moreover, since soft freezing preserves the cell structure of foods, it can keep food in a near-raw state, maintaining its delicious flavor and texture.

This ample compartment holds large fruits and vegetables with ease.

Convenient, fully-opening design

Large fruits and vegetables fit with ease, and 2 liter bottles stand straight up. And because the compartment pulls out all the way out on rails, it’s easy to access items in the back. Buy in bulk on the weekend, save time, and never forget what you’ve bought.

Small item compartment: Preventing small, delicate items from being lost or crushed, this compartment is ideal for small fruit, packaged vegetables, and more.

Tall item compartment: Even tall items can be stored straight.

Top-mounted compressor saves lots of space

Panasonic has moved the compressor from the bottom of the refrigerator to the top. This advanced layout eliminates dead space and greatly increases volume while maintaining the same slender external dimensions.

Three Freezer Compartments

Three compartments allow you to put everything in its right place: Ice compartment, Freezer compartment, Fresh Freezing compartment.

1) Ice compartment

Just put water in the supply tank, and it automatically makes and stores ice. Able to produce ice in as little as 80 minutes*, this compartment is handy on hot days or when friends come over. Washable tray and one-touch removal of the ice tray. The hygienic direct water supply minimizes microbes. Use regular water or mineral water.

2) Gigantic freezer compartment

This compartment lets you store multiple large items. With its flat sides, it’s easy to fill with boxes of frozen foods. Stock up and enjoy.

3) Fresh Freezing compartment

Quick freezing with approx. -32 °C super-cold air blast: An intense blast of super-cold -32°C air rapidly freezes items. Even putting in hot, freshly cooked food has no effect on neighboring items. Put in food at any time without waiting for it to cool.

Seals in fresh flavor: Thanks to rapid freezing, the cells in food items aren’t damaged so the flavor and nutrients are thoroughly preserved. The difference is obvious when you thaw an item—there’s hardly any drip or discoloring.

Drawers open easily—even when full

High-load rails run under the drawers, allowing them to open smoothly and easily. Even when fully loaded, the drawers can be opened easily with one hand. The drawers are also easy to remove from and insert into the refrigerator, making them simple to clean.

Since the drawers open fully, you can see everything inside at a glance. Items can be accessed directly and easily from above, preventing damage to delicate foods. Drawers which open and close quicker also help ensure less cold air escapes, to save energy.

Tall, wide, and deep shelves

The first and second shelves can hold means stored items are easy to see. 350 mL cans, while the third and fourth shelves can hold 500 mL cans — all in an upright position. The deep shelves also make it easy to store large food items and entire packages of food.

Clean and Hygienic

Powerful antibacterial function helps keep the refrigerator interior clean and hygienic at all times.

Automatically switches between two antibacterial functions

During ordinary operation, the refrigerator uses Panasonic’s Ag Clean function. When a greater volume of food is being stored, the refrigerator switches to Panasonic’s Hygiene Active system, which rapidly eliminates bacteria. Combining these two functions help to maintain a hygienic refrigerator interior at all times.

Hygiene Active

Panasonic’s original Hygiene Active inactivates bacteria afloat inside the refrigerator. It features a silver-coated filter with powerful antibacterial properties and blue LED lights that boost the effects of the filter. These technologies eliminate airborne bacteria to achieve a survival rate of 0.0001%. This has been proven and certified by a third-party organization.
