Robust Monochrome Options
L. Monochrome and L. Monochrome D are new monochrome modes in Photo Style that feature even finer gradations. Along with Monochrome, it gives you the dynamic control to help take black-and-white expressiveness to the next level.
In addition, each of these modes can be combined with Grain Effect at Low, Standard, or High level. When you have the appeal of monochrome film at your fingertips with rich black tones and grainy textures, even ordinary scenes can become something remarkable.
Ultra High Speed Focusing
Capture even the fastest moving action thanks to DFD (Depth From Defocus) technology. It instantly calculates the distance to the subject by evaluating two images with different sharpness levels, and achieves ultra-high-speed AF.
The LUMIX FZ1000M2 also boasts high-speed burst shooting at 12 fps (AFS) and 7 fps (AFC) for up to more than 100 (JPEG) / 26 (RAW) images to capture fast moving subjects in-focus.
Zoom Compose Assist
The Zoom Compose Assist function lets you quickly zoom out with a single press of a button when you've lost your subject while telephoto shooting. This allows you to instantly reconfirm your composition.
Intuitive Dual Dial Operation
The well-defined grip provides a stable hold with minimum fatigue despite its substantial weight. The front/rear dual dial system enables direct setting of shutter speed and aperture, just like LUMIX G cameras. The optimum dial, button, lever and switch layout provides intuitive, comfortable control for both photo and video shooting.
Intuitive Lens Barrel Operation
You can customize your camera operation exactly as you wish with the control ring and three Fn buttons on the lens barrel. Naturally, this gives you smooth zooming and focusing, and it also lets you assign up to 62 settings to the Fn buttons for instant recall of ISO, WB, Exposure Compensation, and more.

The battery can be recharged either via AC or USB according to the your convenience.
Remote Control — Bluetooth 4.2 / Wi-Fi®
Bluetooth 4.2 (Low Energy) enables shutter release and video record start/stop via a smartphone or tablet. You can also use the Panasonic Image App for Android/iOS to control functions like zoom and focus and to share your images on social media via Wi-Fi®.

3cm Macro Shooting
Stunning macro photos can be shot with minimum focusing distance of 3cm. You can enjoy shooting close-up shots with the LUMIX FZ1000M2 only to express spectacular details of flowers, insects and so on.
Focus Stacking
The Focus Stacking function enables you to adjust the focus area after shooting by blending multiple images taken at different focus distances to create an amazing image depth of field. You can make your images with exactly the kind of de-focus you want or pan-focus the image by simply selecting the focus area after shooting. This is brilliantly useful when shooting with fast apertures, close ups or macro photography.
4K PHOTO Auto Marking
The Auto Marking function helps you choose your best shots more easily. The camera detects motion or a human face and automatically sets a marker to enhance your creativity.
4K PHOTO Sequence Composition
Sequence Composition makes the 4K PHOTO feature even more creative. A unique stromotion image can be produced by synthesizing multiple 4K PHOTO images.
4K Video
A leader in 4K technology, Panasonic integrates 4K recording capability into a highly compact body. It allows you to record your precious memories in 3,840 x 2,160 pixel videos — 4 times more pixels than full HD.

High Speed Video in FHD
You can record high-speed videos* at 120fps in FHD quality. You can capture scenes that can't be seen with the naked eye, and play them back in dramatic slow motion.

5-axis Correction / Tilt Correction
5-Axis HYBRID O.I.S.+ (Optical Image Stabilizer Plus) detects and compensates for the camera’s 5 types of movement to suppress blurring. The Level Shot Function detects the image's horizontal line and maintains it even if the camera is tilted.

Stereo Zoom Microphone
The videos also come with high-quality, highly realistic Dolby® sound. The stereo zoom microphone features a zoom noise reduction system, and the Auto Wind Cut function blocks out most of the noise from background wind.
With the DMW-MS2* Stereo/Shotgun Microphone, you can adjust the sound gathering characteristics to match the shooting situation.
