“nanoe™X” is Panasonic’s term for the nano-sized fine-particle ions generated by applying high voltage to atmospheric water. Our generation process creates a lot of "hydroxyl radicals", which by their nature break down many (especially organic) substances and are a decisive factor in sterilisation*¹.
The generator is installed in the vegetable compartment and disperses hydroxyl radicals throughout the entire refrigerator. nanoe™X has effects for bacteria inhibition, pesticide reduction and deodorisation and contributes to storing ingredients in the refrigerator hygienically.
It is generally said that hydroxyl radicals have a strong ability to oxidize materials, so this effect does not last very long.
However, since “nanoe™X” is contained in water, the effect lasts much longer*².
Research has confirmed that the range of action for this type of hydroxyl radicals is extensive.
Water vapor particles are 6,000 nm in size, but nanoe™X ranges from 5 to 20 nm. This is truly ultra-fine!
These ions also penetrate into gaps and between fibres, such as on the surfaces of vegetable leaves, eliminating the causes of bacteria and odours as they go.
It has been confirmed that hydroxyl radicals have a very wide effective range.
nanoe™X penetrates every corner of the refrigerator and removes bacteria and odour-causing fungal spores.
nanoe™X even enters into the crevices of food and removes bacteria and odour-causing pathogens from them.
Its small size and long-lasting effects are big advantages of nanoe™X, allowing them to spread to every corner of the refrigerator and kill not only the bacteria floating inside the refrigerator, but also the ones attached to the wall.

The standard values for residual pesticides on vegetables and fruits are specified by the government. However, even if you wash them before eating, residual pesticides are still a concern. When vegetables are stored in a Panasonic nanoe™X compatible refrigerator, the hydroxyl radicals of nanoe™X decompose the pesticides attached to the foods, so they can be washed off clean with water. nanoe™X can reduce pesticides by up to 4.7 times as compared with simply rinsing with water.
Since nanoe™X particles are extremely small, even the pesticides left lodged within the fibres are decomposed. You can enjoy unheated dishes such as salads with confidence.

nanoe™X also controls odour-causing substances, so you can expect the deodorising effect throughout the entire refrigerator.
nanoe™X has a deodorising effect on foods with particularly strong odours, such as durian fruit, shrimp paste, and stinky tofu. It limits the transfer of odours to surrounding foods, so all food retains its original flavour.
