Health-conscious grilling does not end with the food
- High quality charcoal: Don't purchase your fuel solely on the price. An indication of high quality is when the charcoal is only one type of wood. Information can also be found on the label about whether the coal has been tested for harmful substances.
- Exercise patience: Alcohol and other liquid accelerators are not the safest methods for heating the grill. A better alternative is a fixed ignition cube, which will allow you start after about 20 minutes.
- Beer marinade: When you expose your food to a beer shower two things happen—the grill will start to smoke horribly, and your delicious marinade on the meat will be covered with ashes. - Clean after cooking: Make sure to thoroughly clean the grill after use, because fire residues can also contain toxic substances. The wire brush and dish soap are your best friends for this task.
