Quick Asian-Spiced Pork Tenderloin
The addition of steam while cooking this Asian-spiced Pork Tenderloin provides a moist interior while the grill helps to glaze the tenderloin with the flavourful sauce. Serve with cooked Jasmine rice and boiled edamame for a super quick and satisfying mid-week meal.
Ingredients
Steps
Bring pork to room temperature 30 minutes before cooking.
Peel and slice onion. Add slices to large oval microwave-proof casserole dish (2.8 quart) with butter and cover with a glass top or plastic wrap to lock in steam. Cook for 3 minutes on 100% power. Remove dish from microwave, remove glass top/plastic wrap (be careful – steam is hot) and stir.
In a small bowl, combine chicken broth, garlic, Hoisin and Chinese Five Spice Powder.
Add tenderloins to dish with onions and pour chicken broth mixture overtop. Turn to coat well in liquid.
Place dish on top of metal rack. Cook, uncovered, on combination 1 STEAM GRILL for 30-35 minutes, turning once halfway through until just a hint of pink remains or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of meat registers at 160° F.
Remove tenderloins from sauce and set aside to rest.
Place uncovered dish back into microwave and cook on 100% power to slightly thicken sauce, approximately 5 minutes. Stir in lime rind and juice.
Thickly slice tenderloins and place on platter. Pour sauce over top and garnish with freshly chopped cilantro, if desired.
