New Portable Rechargeable Oral Irrigator Featuring Ultrasonic Technology

Frankfurt, Germany, 2019-18-02 – Panasonic is introducing a new Rechargeable Oral Irrigator EW1511 that provides five kinds of oral care for interdental spaces, periodontal pockets, tooth surfaces, orthodontic appliances and gums with its powerful ultrasonic water jet. It also features a compact, portable design for easy use anytime, anywhere.

It is reported that the number 1 cause of tooth loss is periodontal disease*¹. It is a disease found in over 70% of adults*², and it progresses insidiously*².In addition to regular brushing, the care of periodontal pockets is necessary to prevent the progression of periodontal disease because periodontal disease bacteria exist deep in periodontal pockets where a toothbrush cannot reach.Innovative shape for easy and precise grooming.

Ease of use for everyday care
To make it an everyday routine, ease-of-use matters. The Panasonic Rechargeable Oral Irrigator EW1511 features an approximately 53%*³ larger water tank to hold 200 mL of water despite its compact, cordless body. It can be used for approximately 60 seconds per a single water supply. Charging is done quickly and easily by just placing the irrigator on the bundled charging stand for approximately 1 hour. The waterproof design also allows use in the shower and washing thoroughly to keep it clean.

Despite its compact, portable body, the Rechargeable Oral Irrigator EW1511 achieves a maximum 647 kPa*⁴ powerful water flossing. It flushes food debris left in the interdental spaces as well as the floating plaque in the periodontal pocket which causes periodontal disease. It is difficult to brush the teeth thoroughly for people wearing orthodontic appliances but the irrigator cleans both teeth and bridges with astonishing ease.

Panasonic combines its unique ultrasonic technology in the water jet to achieve cleaning of the tooth surface, which was impossible for conventional irrigators. The narrow nozzle increases water jet speed and microbubbles are generated. The shock waves generated when air bubbles burst amplify the cleaning power. This helps to remove more food debris on and between the teeth, even with the same level of water pressure.

Water stimulation for gum care
By applying the water jet to the gums, it stimulates the gums with approximately 1,600 gentle pulses per minute*⁵. Continuous care leads to healthier gums.
