What is GHP

The Gas Heat Pump System (GHP)

Panasonic Gas Heat Pump is a direct expansion system with compressor as same as VRF system. Gas engine is used as driving source of compressor instead of electric motor. This gas engine compressor drive has 2 advantages:

  1. Waste heat from the gas engine available
  2. No need for motor power consumption thanks to gas engine

The Difference between GHP and EHP

The advanced Panasonic GHP VRF system offers increased efficiency and performance across the range. Now more powerful than ever before, it can connect up to 48 indoor units. Improvements include increased part load performance, reduced gas consumption with a Miller-cycle engine and reduced electrical consumption by using DC fan motors.

GHP vs EHP

Advantages of GHP

Fast and Powerful Heating

Since it uses waste heat from a gas engine, the heating start-up is very fast. The room can be heated almost instantly. There are also very few defrosting cycles, so a constant flow of hot air can be supplied compared with EHP systems.

Low Power Consumption

Also, GHP systems do not use any electricity other than that for driving fans or other auxiliary devices, so the power consumption is very low compared with EHP systems. Of course, ordinary power consumption is also reduced, so it helps to significantly cut the power peak during seasons when the temperature often fluctuates.

Environmentally Friendly

The GHP VRF systems have the lowest nitrogen oxide emissions. In a pioneering development, the Panasonic GHP features a brand new lean-burn combustion system that utilizes air fuel ratio feedback control to reduce NOx emissions to an all time low.
