Next Generation Talent Programme

The Next Generation Talent Programme (NGTP) is a 10 months programme open to people who have the potential to develop and grow into management roles or higher. The programme includes a mix of different development activities including workshops, business projects, coaching and a secondment in another part of the business anywhere across Europe. ● What makes Panasonic a great place to work?

For me, it is the mix of the internationality which allows the opportunity to  work with many inspiring people and the freedom to reach targets in my own way.  There is respect for who I am and my background to work in this industry where we have popular high quality products and solutions.

● Describe the relationships you've built with your co-workers.

I have built many long-term relationships which extend outside work where we encourage and support each other.  There is opportunity to travel to the trade shows across Europe brining the chance to network over dinner and get to know people personally.

● What is your favorite part about your job?

My self-determination and the many people I am working with. I have clear goals to reach, and every day brings new challenges. But I decide how to overcome challenges, how to prioritize my work and which projects are worth to bring forward in order to reach the targets. And besides that, as a salesperson, I pretty much enjoy working with different people and different companies, from a big international company to a smaller Swiss SME. These cooperations for projects are really refreshing.

● What is your favorite Panasonic moment?

First day. First introduction. On my first day, I was introduced to around 20 colleagues from different countries, including Japan, Finland, Brazil, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Germany. The positive energy in the workplace was incredible, and I was amazed by the cultural mix and enthusiasm of the team.

● What makes Panasonic a great place to work?

● What's one interesting fact about Panasonic that people might not know?

Panasonic offers welding robots integrated in all-in-one solution. This solution combines robot, welding power source, controller, and welding torch to provide efficient and precise welding operations. This comprehensive approach streamlines the welding process, increases productivity, and ensures consistent high-quality welds all from one company.

● Why would you recommend other people to work for Panasonic?

● Why did you choose Panasonic?

That was about 8 years ago and I'm still here 😊.

At that time I found my superiors very pleasant and easy to talk to in addition to the desire to work in a large corporation. When I was due to start, my father was not doing well and I was immediately offered to start a little later than planned. I knew then that it was the right decision, as I hadn't seen such a caring behavior from my previous professional environment.
I also liked the varied and challenging job that was to become mine and that I still get to do every day. A lot has changed since then, including my team. I like change and I still feel that this is the right company for me as I did eight years ago.

● What makes Panasonic a great place to work?

In the last eight years I have not regretted a single day that I accepted the job offer. There are constantly new challenges and I can develop further day by day.
My environment is also developing and has adapted very well to the changed conditions that the pandemic has triggered. I think it's very important that the employer is committed to adapt to new conditions when the outside world changes.I'm allowed to make my small contribution to this. And that's fun!
I also really like the contact with our internal customers and the customer-centric work.

● How do you describe Panasonic culture?

Cooperative, flexible, multicultural, supportive and social.

● What's one interesting fact about Panasonic that people might not know?

I believe that many people would say Panasonic makes good televisions, cameras or household appliances.  However, very few people know that we are the market leader in the battery production segment: around 15 percent of the batteries for electric cars come from the company headquarters in Osaka, Kadoma.

One interesting fact about Panasonic is its strong commitment to developing internal talent through programs like the Next Generation Talent Program (NGTP), which I had the opportunity to be part of. It's a cross-functional and international development program that brings together young professionals from different countries and business units across the Panasonic organization.
Participating in NGTP allowed me to collaborate with colleagues from across Europe on real business challenges, while gaining strategic insights and leadership skills. What I appreciated most was the truly global atmosphere — working with diverse perspectives and cultures made the experience especially enriching and reflects Panasonic’s dedication to nurturing future leaders in an inclusive, forward-thinking environment.

● What's one interesting fact about Panasonic that people might not know?

Since 1988, Panasonic has been a major sponsor of the Olympic Games, beginning with the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary 1988. Over the past three decades, the company has continued to support the Olympic Games, providing cutting-edge technology and products to enhance the experience of athletes and spectators. From broadcasting equipment to air conditioners, Panasonic has been a reliable partner in helping to make the Olympic Games a success.

● What led you to your current role at Panasonic?

I love how my current role gives me the freedom to set my own schedule, as long as I meet my deadlines. I can prioritize my tasks, take ownership of my time and be more efficient at work.

● How do you describe your work to your friends and family?

Understand the pain of the business process and provide the solution. Trying to make business life easier. Every day I need to think differently and the approach to a solution is different, which keeps you innovative and you will never feel isolated.

● What makes Panasonic a great place to work?

It is very flexible to manage your work. Work-Life balance is super at Panasonic. I always get great support from colleagues and management. You always get a chance to implement your idea and have the freedom to lead the project to completion. This makes Panasonic a great place to work.

● What makes Panasonic a great place to work?

Panasonic is a big international corporation with a tradition of more than 100 years. All of us have the possibility to bring new ideas and experiences into the organization. My job in HR is very diverse and wide-ranging, from creating concepts, leading projects, coordinating, training and coaching. I especially enjoy working together with different personalities and learning something new every day.  

● How do you describe Panasonic culture?

Here at the European Sales Headquarters of Panasonic Industry in Munich the culture is a mixture of tradition and innovation. Many different nationalities and experiences come together, take over responsibility and work as a team in order to reach common goals. Our company values, our “7 Panasonic Principles”, are the basis of our success. “People before Products” is one of them and it shows the importance of each one of us. 

● What is your favorite part about your job?

I am happy to be one of our Basic Business Philosophy Trainers. I have the possibility to get to know all of our new employees and inspire them to follow our 7 Panasonic Principles, which means a positive, solution orientated and respectful communication. I enjoy improving and developing our organization and being part of a great team. 

● What's one interesting fact about Panasonic that people might not know?

Our founder, Konosuke Matsushita, is famous like a pop star in Japan. One of his basis for behavior was “Sunao (untrapped or open) Mind”, which means to face everybody tolerantly without being selfish, influenced or prejudiced but rather to be open to the teachings of others and being able to find joy in any circumstances. His basis was from the 1930’s but it still reflects the spirit of Panasonic today.

● What makes Panasonic a great place to work for you?

I’m proud to work for such a well know company as Panasonic. As employees we are given the opportunity to work across many different departments within the business. As the Professional Kitchen Product manager for Europe, I get to work with many different teams which include Sales, Marketing, Service, Culinary, Finance, Engineers plus many more. I am also given the opportunity to talk and meet the innovation teams in Japan and give guidance in what we need to be more competitive with in the market. At Panasonic a healthy work life balance is very much promoted, we are given flexible working hours, great paid holidays, and options for remote working. This for me is great with having such a young family to look after and support. The company has helped and encouraged me to reach career goals and offers full support and guidance to achieve these goals.

● Describe Panasonic in just one word.

Innovative

● What is your favorite part about your job?

The favourite part of my role is the variation in day to day. One of the best parts is that I get to see products from concept idea to launch. I get to be involved with the engineering teams to define the features and functionality.

● What’s one interesting fact about Panasonic that people might not know?

Panasonic was found as a lighting company with the first product it produced a light socket.

Panasonic also encourages us to take the initiative and implement new ideas; to focus not only on developing the business, but ourselves, too. However, it’s the family-like atmosphere and team spirit that really makes it great – I’m surrounded by amazing people who are always ready to share their knowledge, help and support me. They simply make work more fun.

● What is your favorite part of your job?

What I enjoy the most is the variety of my responsibilities, since it allows me to do something different almost every day and never feel bored. Working closely with international teams in Marketing, Sales, Planning and Logistics is also an amazing opportunity to keep learning new things and meeting new people. It’s challenging, but at the same time very rewarding.
