We have an opportunity for a Sydney based Application Developer, who will actively and regularly engage with the business and other key stakeholders to propose & define solutions that improve the business and then conduct the programming, testing, deployment, training, and support for systems based solutions. 

Job Description

  • Oversee assigned projects and manage the development and implementation from end to end (e.g. from concept stage to final deployment and user acceptance).
  • Work closely with the CTSG Director and Lead Applications Developer to discuss project time lines, resource requirements, work allocation etc... to ensure project and business requirements are met.
  • Engage with members at PAU, PSSOC, Regional HQ and other entities to complete projects.
  • Manage projects to agreed time frames and budgets.
  • Engage early and often with PISC-AP, on regional initiatives to ensure PAU needs are considers with respect to new initiatives.
  • Design applications solutions to enhance business processes.
  • Code and develop applications in line with company policy and practice.
  • Prepare all relevant documentation associated with application developments
  • Provide training and support to end users.
  • Undertake applications support, bug fixes, system enhancements etc.… as required.
  • Expand your technical knowledge with respect to applications development into areas such as Cloud Based or other 3rd Party applications as required by the business.

Qualifications/ Requirements

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in systems development (i-series and other relevant apps)
  • 3- 5 years’ experience in leading development projects
  • Experience in building relationships across numerous areas and at all levels of business
  • Ability to visualise end to end processes and make systematic improvements
  • Experience in RPGIII, RPGIV, RPGLE and CL programming on iSeries platform
  • Experience with WILCOMM, SPOOL-IT, TURNOVER Change Management, and Query400 iSeries tools and applications
  • Strong MS Office Skills – Excel, Access, Visio, Word and Power Point
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail

Due diligence and keeping within given deadlines will be essential to this role.

Qualifications/ Requirements

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Demonstrated customer service skills

  • The drive and ability to manage customer enquiries to conclusion
  • Excellent attention to detail, be process oriented and have strong administration skills, organisational and time management skills

  • Demonstrated product management and inventory management experience with the ability to manage complex numerical and PSI (Profit, Sales and Inventory) related tasks and applications;
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the Consumer Technology industry, competitive environment and evolving domestic and international trends, future threats and opportunities
  • Demonstrated business development experience and relish the opportunity to open and increase Panasonic’s market share across new channels
  • Strong customer focus with an understanding of customer segmentation and profiling
