ProRes RAW HQ Internal Recording

5.7K 30p ProRes RAW HQ footage can be recorded on the camera body itself, giving you the freedom to capture the moment at the click of a button with minimal setup and no need for external devices. Improved gimbal compatibility also expands the range of expressions.

RAW Video Data Output

LUMIX GH7 enables the output of 12-bit RAW video data over HDMI to save it as Blackmagic RAW on Blackmagic Design external recorder*, or ProRes RAW on ATOMOS external recorder**.

World's First 32-bit Float Recording*

When combined with the DMW-XLR2 (sold separately), the LUMIX GH7 delivers the world's first 32-bit float recording,* improving the quality and efficiency of the entire workflow. With its wide dynamic range, the 32-bit float format records more information, from quiet to loud sounds, eliminating the need for tedious sound level adjustments during audio recording. Video and music can be managed in a single file, making post-production much more efficient.

ARRI LogC3 Recording

By using DMW-SFU3A Software Upgrade Key (sold separately), users can use the ARRI LogC3*, which enables color matching with ARRI's digital cinema cameras. The image processing of the ARRI LogC3 curve on LUMIX GH7 has been certified by ARRI for the implementation of this function. The options for Log recording, which provides rich color information and a wide dynamic range, have been expanded to include ARRI LogC3 in addition to the conventional V-Log, further improving LUMIX's workflow compatibility.

*ARRI LogC3 is a Log gamma developed by ARRI and used in ARRI digital cinema cameras. Please note: ALEXA 35 uses ARRI LogC4. *On the LUMIX GH7, ARRI LogC3 can be used for 10bit recording in Creative Video mode. ･ARRI is registered trademarks of Arnold & Richter Cine Technik GmbH & Co. Betriebs KG.

Proxy Video Recording

This new feature records a low bit-rate proxy file when recording video. Simultaneously recording a proxy file that is linked with the original video recording enabling a faster delivery from production to post. In addition, LUT file can be applied to Proxy videos when using the REALTIME LUT function.

Compatibility with Adobe Camera to Cloud

The LUMIX GH7 camera is now natively integrated with Frame.io Camera to Cloud, the leading cloud-based collaboration platform that allows users to share and collaborate while editing still images and videos. By connecting the camera to the internet via Wi-Fi or USB tethering, you can automatically upload images (JPEG/RAW) and Proxy videos directly from the camera to the Frame.io platform. This integration allows editors and collaborators to access footage or images, connecting the production process to post-production enabling a much more efficient content creation process.

Compatibility with Adobe Camera to Cloud

Direct recording to USB-SSD

With the LUMIX GH7, recording and playback is supported using an external SSD via USB. In addition, the ability to record ProRes RAW HQ and 4:2:2 10-bit All-Intra directly to SSDs, which combine portability and high capacity has improved efficiency in data backup and post-processing.

･An AC Adaptor DMW-AC11 (optional) and DC Coupler DMW-DCC18 (optional) are required to record HFR/VFR video of 61fps or higher on a USB-SSD. ･It is not possible to record video and photo on the SD card simultaneously while recording it on the external SSD. ･Use an external SSD no more than 2 TB in size that is compatible with USB Type-C. We recommend using an external SSD whose operation has been confirmed by Panasonic. Note beforehand that this is not a guarantee of operation on all devices. ･Latest information on the external SSDs will be available at the following support site at the same time as firmware release: https://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/dsc/connect/index.html

Wireless Live Streaming / USB-tethering

Enjoy creative live streaming with digital single lens mirrorless cameras, both indoors and outdoors. Live streaming (RTMP/RTMPS protocol) can be easily configured via the LUMIX Lab app* (Android / iOS). In environments with a lot of radio interference, stable communication speed can be ensured by tethering the camera via USB to a smartphone.

･Live streaming to the platforms that comply with RTMP/RTMPS is basically possible (Compatibility with all the platforms is not guaranteed.) There may be the cases where the live streaming is not possible when the service of the platform changes. For more information, please refer to the terms and conditions of the platform. ･Since the transmission speed of live streaming varies depending on the Internet environment, smartphone performance, etc., we recommend that you conduct a transmission test in advance. ･Android and Google Play are trademarks or registered trademarks of Google Inc.

REAL TIME LUT

LUTs can be applied to photos and videos on the camera body itself, allowing you to create photos and videos straight out of the camera. Supports ".VLT" and ".CUBE" file formats.
By utilizing this feature, you can save time on the complicated post-editing process. In combination with the LUMIX Lab app, you can easily create your own LUTs and install them on the camera.

LUMIX Lab App

Pair the camera with your smartphone in three steps and transfer content seamlessly with ultra-fast Wi-Fi connection. You can also crop, adjust brightness, apply LUTs, etc., enabling simple editing for any social media platform to be done in a snap.

LEICA Monochrome

Leica is well known for its superior picture quality and has a reputation from users all over the world for its outstanding depiction and expressiveness. Through our L2 Technology collaboration, we learned the picture-making philosophy that Leica has built up over its long history and realized this mode as one of the new expressiveness of the LUMIX camera. It features deep contrasts between black and white.

100MP Handheld High Resolution Mode

The LUMIX GH7's High Resolution Mode supports hand-held shooting, using the Body Image Stabilizer (B.I.S.) mechanism to shift the sensor while capturing consecutive images. Then, it selects multiple steadiest shots and automatically synthesizes them into a 100-megapixel equivalent (11,552 x 8,672-pixel) file. This allows you to capture magnificent natural scenery and detailed works of art in ultra-high resolution without using a tripod.
